CARTERSVILLE, GA – Shaw Contract Group invites designers to cast their vote for the 2010 Design Is… Award People’s Choice project. Twelve projects are currently posted on shawcontractgroup.com and any visitor to the Web site is eligible to vote. These projects are all finalists for the Design Is… Award, a program that recognizes inspirational and visionary design across the commercial interiors landscape. The Design Is… Awards will be announced online on August 6, 2010.
“The Design Is… Award program celebrates more than just beautiful spaces. It speaks to the power of design to transform any space in any environment. That diversity is reflected in our finalists, selected from more than 250 entries from 11 countries,” says John Stephens, vice president of marketing. “The People’s Choice voting allows us to engage our customers, to learn more about their definition of design excellence. The 2010 judging panel represents a diverse cross section of the design community, with specialists in the corporate, education and health care markets. John Cary, speaker, consultant, and author of The Power of Pro Bono, moderated the judging process.
In its fifth year, the Design Is… Award seeks entrants to explain their definition of design. Entries are asked to describe the challenges, processes and results from their projects and will be judged by a panel of design experts.
