Humanscale’s Annual Art Auction to Benefit World Wildlife Fund

July 16, 2010

NEW YORK – Humanscale is now accepting wildlife-inspired artwork to auction at the 10th annual “Faces in the Wild” event. The live auction and design competition, aimed at raising awareness and funds for wildlife protection, is scheduled for October 7, 2010, at Humanscale’s New York showroom.

Artists and designers are encouraged to donate original art in any physical medium—including printed or painted matter, photography, and sculpture—depicting any non-domesticated animal, insects, or wildlife scenes. All entries must be easily transportable, display-ready, and made from environmentally friendly, non-perishable materials.

Due to space limitations, the number of entries is limited to 100. All entries will be featured in an online preview auction, with 50 jury-selected items up for grabs at silent and live auctions in Humanscale’s showroom on October 7. To reserve a spot and request an entry form, contact Karen Brooking at (212) 353-1383 or via e-mail at [email protected].

Artwork, photos of the artwork, and two copies of the completed entry form must be submitted by September 10, 2010.

Since its inception, Faces in the Wild has generated more than $340,000 for wildlife conservation, including matching donations from Humanscale. All proceeds from the 2010 event will go directly to World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the largest conservation organization in the world. WWF leads international efforts to protect endangered species and their habitats. By 2015, the organization hopes to conserve 19 of the world’s most important natural places—including the Galapagos and Congo Basin—and significantly mediate global forces like agriculture and climate change to protect the future of nature.
