Bretford's ‘Oldest Video’ Competition Underway

July 30, 2010

CHICAGO – Educators and IT professionals now have the opportunity to win a free room of technology furniture for 30 students and professionals simply by entering the “Oldest Product” video competition by Bretford Manufacturing Inc., maker of dependable furniture products that improve how people work and learn.

The competition is a celebration of Bretford’s 60-plus year heritage and the longevity of its products, some of which have been around for decades.

The “Oldest Product” video competition is designed to be fun and creative, while showing the critical role that technology furniture plays in formal, informal and social learning environments. To participate, each entrant must create and submit a video showing their oldest Bretford furniture product still in use today. The contest is open until August 31, 2010 to all educators, business professionals and facilities managers who either use or select furniture products in a school or training facility.

“The ‘Oldest Product’ video competition gives entrants the ability to show how a 1960s Bretford AV cart is still being used in a high school today, for example,” explains Cindy Weinschreider, senior product manager for Bretford Manufacturing. “There has been a lot of enthusiasm about this contest as it gives people the opportunity to be imaginative by using rap songs, rhymes and other original ways to show how their 10-, 20- or 30-year old Bretford furniture products are still being used with even the newest technology equipment.”

Participants may enter by going to www.bretford.com/contest where, after agreeing to the contest rules and terms of service, a 1- to 2-minute video can be uploaded. The videos will be judged by a panel of Bretford executives and must explain what the Bretford product is and how it’s being used, how old the Bretford product is, why it’s still in use, why the entrant feels the product should win the contest and how their facility will use the grand prize.

The winning package will consist of 15 Connections Tables, one Mobile Multimedia Instructor Desk, one Presenter’s Assistant for Learning (PAL) Cart, one Projection Screen, one 30-Unit Intelligent Laptop Cart, and one Flat Panel Cart.
