Mancini•Duffy Garners Multiple Design Awards

Aug. 26, 2010

NEW YORK – Mancini•Duffy recently announced new design awards from prestigious organizations for two of its recent projects.

The firm’s work on the Council on Foreign Relations’ (CFR) new offices and event center in Washington, D.C., received an Honorable Mention in the New Urban Construction category from USGBC’s National Capital Region Chapter’s 2010 Awards of Excellence. This project previously won an Award of Excellence for Best Urban Renovation from NAIOP’s Maryland/DC Chapter and the Green Project Award from Real Estate & Construction Review.

CFR involved the re-development of the building program and the design renovation of the building façade and new interior office space which was awarded LEED® Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Additionally, the Fortune Global 500 Investment Center in Charlotte, NC, won the award for best project in the “Commercial Under 50,000 Square Feet category” in the IIDA New York Chapter’s 2010 Lester Dundes Interior Design Competition.

The judges commented that the design solution provides a departure from traditional call centers, and is very well targeted toward its staff—a younger demographic. It demonstrates a great effort to steer away from an understandably stressful environment, providing a good sense of light and color and a “moving forward” approach to call centers, setting the bar for like companies to do the same.
