ASHLAND, MA /BUSINESS WIRE/ – IdeaPaint, the creator of high-performance dry erase paint solutions, recently announced its partnership with NBC’s new reality series “School Pride,” to provide several profiled schools with large-scale installations of IdeaPaint—helping teachers and students to collaborate, interact and discover new ways of learning.

"School Pride" is a proactive, alternative series created by executive producers Cheryl Hines ("Curb Your Enthusiasm") and Denise Cramsey ("Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and "True Beauty") that chronicles stories of communities coming together to renovate their aging and broken public schools. The cameras follow students, teachers, parents and community members as they volunteer to rebuild each facility and ultimately unveil a brand-new, completely renovated school.

IdeaPaint’s innovative dry erase paint product helped to transform and restore surfaces within several of the schools featured during the reality series—all of which were in a declining state due to circumstances such as budget cuts and aging buildings. And because IdeaPaint is applied just like normal paint, it was used to easily repaint existing whiteboards and old chalkboards as well as unique spaces.

At the Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies, IdeaPaint converted 70 worn-out chalkboards into high-performance whiteboards and also transformed the music and culinary arts rooms into unique 360-degree learning environments. At Needles High School in Needles, California, IdeaPaint was used to create an innovative space for the school’s technical and vocational studies program.

“IdeaPaint is perfectly suited for the school environment to help create interactive, exciting, durable and dynamic learning spaces—for students and teachers—in a cost-effective manner,” says Bob Munroe, CEO of IdeaPaint. “We are honored to be a part of this broadcast series and to have the ability to help to inspire and motivate these deserving students and their teachers with IdeaPaint. IdeaPaint encourages kids of all ages to go ahead and write on the walls!”

“Thanks to IdeaPaint, these school children and their teachers will benefit from high-performance writing space and hopefully become more productive and creative with their studies,” says executive producer, Denise Cramsey, of "School Pride." “It is incredibly gratifying to see the smiling students—post renovation—and know that you played a role in rebuilding this community in need and helping to instill a lifelong love of learning.”
