Architecture 2030 continues to lay the foundation for a critical transformation of the building sector by issuing the 2030 Challenge for Products, a plan to dramatically reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions resulting from the manufacturing and transportation of building products by 30 percent by 2014, and 50 percent by 2030.

LEED Volume Program Celebrates its 500th Certified Pilot Project
More than 500 building projects have certified through the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Volume Program since the pilot launched in 2006, according to the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The LEED Volume Program streamlines the certification process for high-volume property owners and managers, from commercial real estate firms, national retailers and hospitality providers, to local, state and federal governments.

ASID Foundation Announces Winner of Inaugural Research Grant Program
The American Society of Interior Designers Foundation (ASID Foundation) has awarded $100,000 to the Materials Research Collaborative. The MRC operates with the purpose of enabling the interior design community to reduce the use of building products that are hazardous to human health. The project will provide interior designers with an improved level of independently-verified information about building products, presented by the Pharos online database and analysis system.
