OFM, one of the nation’s leading office and school furniture manufacturers and distributors, announced today the winner of its “New Year, New Office” contest, which was held earlier this year to kick off 2011. The Economic Development Investment Fund (EDIF), a nonprofit organization based in Sarasota, Fla. was named the winner of the competition and won a modular OFM conference room setup to help furnish its new office space.

“OFM is excited to help a growing organization as part of the contest,” says Blake Zalcberg, chief operating officer for OFM who organized the competition. “We received a lot of good submissions from small businesses around the country, but felt the Economic Development Investment Fund made the best case to our judges about why they deserve the new office furniture.”

Contestants who own or work at a small business registered in the United States with 50 employees were encouraged to enter the contest by submitting a photo of their current office and a brief description of why they deserve a makeover.

EDIF is a nonprofit business-lending organization that has helped nearly 200 Florida businesses with funding, job creation and retention since its founding in 2008. The organization is planning a grand opening party soon and will showcase the new OFM furniture to small business partners around the state.

“We are honored to be named the winner of OFM’s nationwide contest and are very excited about our new office furniture,” says Brian Caswell, president of EDIF.
