SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (January 12, 2012) – The results are in, and the Massachusetts Maritime Academy installation by Perry Dean Rogers | Partners Architects has been named the winner of 3form’s 6th Annual People’s Choice Installation Contest.
The designers utilized a combination of Varia Ecoresin translucent panels and high-resolution imagery to create a wall display that spans multiple floors depicting a Mercator map overlaid with the complete text of Nathaniel Philbrick’s award winning novel, In the Heart of the Sea.
In the Interiors category, Growing Smiles Pediatric Dentistry by CIVITAS Architects earned first place. The designers used Varia Ecoresin and Struttura to create a forest environment that is bright, playful and enjoyable for children.
A new entry canopy for the Artists for Humanity EpiCenter in Boston, Mass., by designLAB architects, won first prize in the Exterior category. High school students in the AFH program designed and built the canopy in conjunction with designLAB architects and graduate architecture students from the Massachusetts College of Art + Design.
“The level of creativity, forward thinking and innovation displayed in this year’s People’s Choice Contest submissions was absolutely incredible,” says Jill Canales, senior vice president of marketing and design, 3form. “The imaginative ways in which design leaders are utilizing 3form materials serves as a great inspiration for the company moving forward.”
Perry Dean Rogers | Partners Architects will receive a trip to Salt Lake City to tour the 3form showroom, take advantage of some of the country’s best skiing conditions and walk away with a selection of 3form products.
