Following openings in Milan, Cologne, Stockholm and New York, Arper has unveiled its latest space in Clerkenwell, a strategic location in London’s design and architecture district, thus further expanding its international network of showrooms.
This new showroom, which has been designed by the London-based architects 6A, is open to the street on the two sides, featuring the use of different materials including plaster, wood and cast aluminium, all in shades of white. These elements alternate with other elements in concrete, a memento of the industrial past of the district. All of this gives life to a unique context for the exhibition of the company’s collections.
The 560-square-meter showroom has also been designed to be as flexible as possible, to allow it to host both exhibitions and events for the London design community.
“We see our flagship showroom as Arper's embassy in the UK; through this space we aim to increase Arper brand recognition and improve its position,” says Claudio Feltrin, CEO of Arper. “London, and in particular Clerkenwell, has one of the highest concentrations of architectural and engineering companies in the world.”
Tom Emerson, founder of 6A Architects, said about their collaboration with Arper: “I am proud of this project that we have developed jointly with Arper, as they share so many of our values. Traditionally Clerkenwell was London’s Italian quarter, a centre of manufacturing and precision engineering. For this reason we have decided to put the space in direct contact with the district, for instance through the transparency of the large windows that allow for a constant dialogue between inside and outside."
The new showroom can be found at 11 Clerkenwell Road in London. You can contact the showroom at [email protected].
