EYP and BJAC Announce Strategic Partnership

Jan. 9, 2013

Combined firm to offer deep design expertise to higher education and healthcare clients

RALEIGH, N.C.—BJAC and EYP Architecture & Engineering have announced a strategic partnership to expand both firms’ geographic reach, as well as broaden the expertise available to North Carolina clients.

With offices in Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C., BJAC provides design to healthcare, education and research clients. EYP is a nationally-recognized integrated architecture and engineering firm that specializes in sustainable design for higher education, government and corporate clients. The combined firm will operate out of BJAC’s Raleigh and Charlotte offices.

The new partnership, called EYP/BJAC, will combine BJAC’s healthcare and medical education design portfolio with EYP’s strength in biomedical research and science and technology to create a comprehensive healthcare offering. Additionally, it will allow each firm to share and enhance services and specialized knowledge while the partnership expands into new geographic regions.

The new partnership, which marks EYP’s commitment to growth in North Carolina, will be led by BJAC Founding Partner Lou Jurkowski, FAIA, LEED AP BD+C, and EYP President and CEO Tom Birdsey, AIA, LEED AP.

“The EYP/BJAC partnership perfectly aligns with EYP’s commitment to expertise-driven design,” says Birdsey. “BJAC adds breadth to our areas of expertise in higher education and healthcare, and in return we provide that firm’s clients access to expanded resources and additional areas of specialization. BJAC’s approach to client service and commitment to quality closely mirrors our own, and its collaborative process complements the integrated project delivery procedures at EYP. It’s a natural cultural fit for both of us.”

“We wanted to form a strategic partnership that looked to the future, with a respected peer that would maintain BJAC’s core values of strong client relationships, knowledge-based design and an employee-centric organization. EYP is the perfect match,” says Jurkowski.
