VOA Architecture PLLC (VOA), a global architectural design firm, announces that Brian J. McFarland, AIA has joined the firm as a principal. With over 25 years of experience as an architect, Mr. McFarland has worked in various leadership positions with top architecture firms. In this position, he will lead VOA New York’s architecture practice, managing a teamof professionals and overseeing a variety of the office’s projects.
McFarland brings a unique diversity of experience designing a variety of building types across a broad range of market sectors, including multifamily residential, higher education, commercial development and religious institutions.
Prior to joining VOA, Mr. McFarland was an Associate Principal at Cetra Ruddy, with whom he completed a number of successful residential developments for clients such as JDS Development, Property Markets Group, Extell Development, Equity Residential, Garden Homes, The Patrinely Group and Stahl Real Estate. In addition to his work in the residential sector, he brings an impressive portfolio of higher education projects with such esteemed colleges and universities as Princeton, Vassar, West Point, SUNY Binghamton and Columbia University Teachers College.
