Head over to http://bit.ly/1ehXTN1 and cast your vote for your favorite I Like Design finalists. We received a record number of entries this year (see sidebar), which were whittled down to 10 standouts by a combined jury of I&S editors and Studio 3877 principals.
Students were asked to create the next great lobby concept: “In this design challenge, we want you to redefine the hotel lobby beyond reception, restaurant, bar, and lounge,” explained Studio 3877. “We want you to extend the hotel out into the city and bring the urban condition in.”
And the next generation rose to the command! We saw new takes on the pet- and kid-friendly property, the integration of facial scanning technology for replacing “check-ins,” and everything in between. Go online to see the people that made it to the final round—and to vote!
The last student standing wins an internship at the Studio 3877 offices and paid housing through the summer in Washington D.C.
