Project Spotlight: REMIGER DESIGN

REMIGER DESIGN, a St. Louis-based architecture and design firm, recently completed an interactive lobby showcase for a global technology company’s international headquarters in Purchase, N.Y. It consists of two perpendicular curved structures above a series of touch screens and monitors. Together they enable users to engage with hands-on demonstrations of products.

“A typical corporation might hang a few well-placed monitors in its lobby and hope that someone retains that information, but our client would rather engage with its employees and customers through interactive experiences that leave a lasting impression,” said Vern Remiger, president of REMIGER.

The headquarters resides in an iconic building designed by revered architect I.M. Pei. For this reason, the designer envisioned a sleek, sculptural strategy in the main lobby area to preserve the integrity of the original space. Working with an audio-visual team, REMIGER integrated 10 video monitors, a center touch table, and a variety of wireless devices.

“A key aspect of this project is that it has more to offer than just a beautiful form,” added Remiger. “The integrated technology creates a unique experience that will cause users to internalize the information presented to them. This is the ideal combination of form and function.”
