In October, Arborite and Wilsonart announced their collaborative efforts to sponsor the Save a Sample! Program, which aims to recycle unused brochures, samples, fabrics, and finish cards by donating them to design schools and students to provide them with materials for projects and assignments. Since its inception, thousands of pounds of materials have been donated to students with the help of furniture manufacturers. While Wilsonart has participated for more than five years, this is Arborite’s first year with the program, which expanded to Canada in 2014. Arborite’s addition to the program elevates their sponsorship to the platinum level.
With both companies’ ever-increasing collections, participation in Save a Sample! allows them to give unused, outdated, and returned materials a second life, while aiding the education of the next generation of designers.
“Wilsonart and Arborite are brands for whom sustainability and environmental awareness is always top-of-mind,” said Suzanne Swift, founder of the organization. “This is a natural partnership for us and we’re excited to expand to the Canadian market with their support.”
