Still recovering 7.1-magnitude earthquake Mexico City experienced on September 19, the organizers of Design Week Mexico have decided to postpone the event.

Originally scheduled for October 4 to 8, the programming will now take place October 11 to 15 as the city is trying to rebuild after the catastrophic earthquake. With the entire city affected, some members of the organizing team of Design Week Mexico have lost their homes.

In a statement dated September 21, the Design Week Mexico team said, “In these times of so much pain and tragedy we must join forces to become a support network for our Mexico. It fills us with hope to see all the incredible feats of solidarity from our people and from around the world. DWM joins in relief efforts for the injured and affected areas around the country, with special affection towards our Guest State 2015, Chiapas and 2017, Puebla.” They’ve asked those in need of assistance to reach out directly to a member of the team.
