    HBF introduces Almond and Miter (featured)-two new occasional table groups by Emanuela Frattini Magnusson. Miter, reflecting the trend toward increased metal in seating, combines wood tops and metal legs. Miter's name refers to the joint made by beveling each of two surfaces to be joined at a 45-degree angle, forming a 90-degree corner. Miter's leg is made by scoring and folding a single piece of metal to create a sharply articulated leg that resembles a mitered joint. The process eliminates the cutting, welding, grinding and polishing needed to connect two separate metal pieces.
