The Wi-LEM (Wireless Local Energy Meter) family of components, available from LEM USA Inc., allows energy consumption to be monitored and reduced via wireless communications using the Zigbee 802.15.4 standard. Wi-LEM consists of an Energy Meter Node to measure consumption and transmit data, a Mesh Node that links the various components, and a Mesh Gate, which provides data through a serial interface to a PC.
