Overhead Acoustics

Acoustic Lay-in Panels (ALPs), available from Eckel Industries Inc., can quickly improve the acoustics in commercial spaces with marginal acoustic ceilings. Installation requires minimal labor and interruption of ongoing activities in affected areas. Any room with a 2- by 4-foot lay-in ceiling that needs added sound absorption (due either to painting or poor performance of the original ceiling materials) may be upgraded by replacing as little as one-third of the existing lay-in panels with ALPs. A new "V"-ridged, 3-dimensional design enhances ceiling aesthetics as well.
