My mother, of course, is the most attractive of the two, with a soft but durable quality. She is petite, but never crushes under pressure. (Her name is Nylon.) My father is quiet and uses very little energy to make his point known. It’s his closed cell cushion personality that has made their relationship last for more than 40 years.
MEASUREMENTS
At birth I’m 100 feet long and 6 feet wide. But once I go to work I am totally monolithic to any room or corridor size. And like Humpty Dumpty, I can be put back together, seamlessly, with all shapes, colors and sizes.
GENETIC MAKEUP
Given the DNA of my parents, I was link-engineered to be durable. In fact, what makes me so unique is the heterogeneous constructions of my nylon wear layer and closed cell cushion, which allows me to easily outperform others of my generation. I’m waterproof, and the closed cell cushion I’ve inherited from my father helps to keep me looking and performing my best, with a proven life-cycle of 42 years.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF?
I am trustworthy, environmentally passionate and I work best under pressure. A true beauty through genes, I’ll never need plastic surgery or a tummy-tuck—and I’m naturally built to
outlast and out design. Oh, and did I mention I’m modest?!?
WHAT’S YOUR BEST FEATURE?
Do I have just one? It must be my closed cell cushion as it
provides me the strength and durability I need to be the
overachiever I am.
WHERE DO YOU FEEL MOST AT HOME?
As you can probably tell already, I am a people person, so I’m
comfortable in any environment; however, I offer the most to spaces where there is a lot of high traffic, such as airports and convention centers, as well as education and health care environments.
WHAT MAKES YOU SPECIAL?
I am very loyal. I will perform without failure for decades and adjust to changing design options without replacement. I’m passionate about the environment and use very little resources to make or to be maintained. I volunteer freely to improve Indoor Air Quality, especially among allergy and asthma sufferers. I am also a cheap date (15 percent to 30 percent less than my resilient cousins).
ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT
They say it isn’t bragging if you’ve done it! I’ve won Antron’s Sustainable Award from INVISTA each of the four years the award has been given. And since I’m 100 percent recyclable, there is no waste after my useful life.

To help save the planet through sustainable design and to be a design leader in the total built environment. I want to help maximize LEED® points and be innovative. And I want to fight for clean air, and rid our planet of chemicals. I want to be someone’s vision realized.
