This one-of-a-kind experience center uses high-end communication and presentation technologies to change the way the healthcare industry is experiencing and conducting business.
Advances in high-level communication, computing, networking, and healthcare technologies are displayed in the Center for Connected Medicine, a one-of-a-kind “experience center.”
Addressing how the healthcare industry is changing the way it conducts business, this project employs flexible, high-end presentation technologies to create an innovative, end-to-end patient management showcase. It was designed to help the C-suite understand how connectivity and technology can transform and benefit the patient and the healthcare organization.
Real examples of success are illustrated via simulated hospital environments, offering hospital administrators the chance to see/hear/feel systems at work and in practice – from admission to the exam room, surgery, post-op, and patient discharge.
The big challenge faced by the project? Not allowing the presentation technologies to distract from the content being presented. Virtually all technology is concealed. Projectors are custom-mounted and located in recessed alcoves, flat panels are built into the walls, and all racks are hidden in custom casework.
Technology helps define the space from beginning to end. Systems include a 36-inch by 128-inch Perceptive Pixel display; digital wallpaper abounds. Eight movable, floor-to-ceiling electronic backdrops are designed for rear projection from both sides to create experiential hospital settings where doctors in other cities can discuss healthcare issues with visitors via IP videoconference.
