Ware Malcomb announced that Jinger Tapia has been promoted to principal, design in the firms Irvine, Calif. corporate headquarters. In this role as a member of the senior leadership team at Ware Malcomb, Tapia will oversee project design, client communication, and the overall design direction of the firm.

After several years with Ware Malcomb, she left briefly, re-joining the firm in 2002 as senior designer. "Jinger’s strong work ethic and desire for excellence set an example for the entire firm, and we are pleased to expand her influence with this well-deserved promotion to principal."

Tapia has led the design effort for many significant projects throughout her career, including

  • South Coast Collection (SOCO), an upscale design, culinary and shopping destination in Costa Mesa
  • 959 Seward, a creative office campus in Hollywood
  • Pacific Corporate Center, a Class A office building in San Diego
  • Summit Oaks, a LEED Silver Certified Class A office building in Santa Clarita

In 2013, she led the design of Ware Malcomb's award-winning concept for the NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association's Distribution/Fulfillment Center of the Future Design Competition. She presented this concept at Urban Land Institute's National Fall Conference in 2013.

Tapia received her bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Arizona. She is also an active member of the Urban Land Institute with a previous leadership role in the Places of Commerce Initiative Council.
