Concept Statement:

Inspired by movement and form found in and around Ketchum Idaho, this design embodies the spirit of the area. Designed from the city’s street grid, the space itself references certain locales within the city denoting the program areas. Keeping in respect to the area’s strong support for the arts and the environment, this design creates a venue where the two meet abstractly. The angles of the building allude to the abundance of mountain ridges found in the area, while the geometrically formed columns represent the tree trunks and the dropped ceiling, the forest canopy. Applying the natural lines and shapes found throughout nature, the design subtly emulates it in an abstract and geometrical manner without the use of plant life.
