Where did you grow up?

I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Mich. If you want to get into specifics, I was brought up in a design studio on the south side of downtown.

What was your first big break?

Well, being pulled from a dumpster and turned into a tabletop, which then became the beginning of the Fuse line of finishes. That seems pretty special to me!

What’s the rumor mill churning out about you these days?

It’s hard to keep things quiet when you have as creative parents as I do… Did someone say modern distressing, colors, and patterns? You didn’t hear it from me.

Where was the last place the paparazzi photographed you?

There was this time last summer I was out and about at the U.S. Open, sporting my Bengal finish. And, well let’s just say, the photographers loved me.

Aside from sugar, spice, and everything nice, what else are you made of?

Blood, sweat, and tears (literally). Those distressing tools can be painful if not used properly.

If you could get one plastic surgery procedure what would it be?

Fix imperfections? Now why would I do that? I like to call them beauty marks. And they look pretty great on me if I dosay so myself.

Who are some of your idols and influencers?

My dad, for one. He’s endlessly creative when it comes to making me look my best so how can you not look up to that? And then there’s those exotic woods, the grains and colors—yeah, those get me excited!

What’s your biggest turn-on?

Those raw, industrial environments are pretty hot right now and I love how I really get a chance to take center stage in those spaces.

Turn-off?

My look tends to draw a lot of attention in a touchy feely sort of way. After a while it starts to feel like a bit of an invasion of privacy!

Who’s your current bestie?

Lately I’ve been a guinea pig as my parents are trying out some new table base designs. I think we’re going to complement each other pretty nicely. I just hope they don’t want to try and steal the limelight.

Who would you like to work with next?

I’ve heard there are some great design firms down south. I’d like to get in on some of their projects and to enjoy some warmth and sunshine. It’s been a long winter up here!

What’s the worst part about fame?

Constantly being elbowed by those enjoying dinner on me, and of course, those restaurant cleaners. Man, they can be harsh!
