Tips for Designing Agile Commercial Interior Spaces in a World of Fixed Assets

Today’s office environment requires more agility and adaptability than in any previous decade.  The list of changes occurring are constantly evolving, but they all require being free and untethered from the building.

This course will examine how a designer accounts for the technological needs like power/data for these areas when the fixed assets, like the older building and power infrastructure, were built to handle a historically attached world.

The new technological requirements will be measured, and a variety of solutions will be examined to assist designers with these modern challenges.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the limitations of current infrastructure and how it impacts design.
  • Describe available power and data solutions that can work within a fixed building structure.
  • Evaluate solutions based on non-disruption of current infrastructure.
  • Determine how to provide power and data for both individualism and collaboration in the same space.

This webinar is approved for 1 LU credit for continuing education with AIA and 1 Health, Safety, Welfare credit with IDCEC.
