NASHVILLE – Gresham, Smith and Partners has announced Randall Gibson, P.E., has joined GS&P as division vice president of the firm’s Nashville Design Studio. Gibson was formerly president of Dewberry Architects, Inc., operating out of their Chicago office. He is a 30-year veteran of the architecture and engineering industry, having focused on planning and project management for a wide range of projects. His organizational leadership and business development experience will support him in broadening the markets served by the healthcare and corporate designers in the Nashville Design Studio, as well as strengthening the firm’s project management and consulting services.

Gibson is a licensed structural engineer who has focused on the leadership of architectural organizations throughout his career. As president of Dewberry Architects, he specialized in institutional design services. In 2007, his firm was part of a joint-venture design team providing architectural services for the renovation of the iconic Metro Courthouse in downtown Nashville. Gibson also recently served as principal-in-charge and planner for the new $27 million, 80,000-square-foot Glenview Public Library in Glenview, Ill., a new $26 million, 126,000-square-foot elementary school for the Fremont School District in Mundelein, Ill., and the new $12 million, 33,000-square-foot Delaware County Public Library in Township, Ohio. Prior to serving as Dewberry’s president, he was midwest regional director and chief operating officer (COO).
An Ohio native, Gibson earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee and completed coursework in the engineering master of business administration (MBA) program at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. He is a licensed structural engineer in Illinois and a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and Indiana.
