Conventional monitors with CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lamp) backlighting have limited color gamut and frequently display deep blacks as dark gray, resulting in inaccurate color.

The CERAMOS multi-chip LED devices position red, green, and blue chips so the color appears the same from a wide range of angles. Measuring just 3 by 4.5 mm and 0.9 mm thick, the LEDs are ideal for flat backlights. The ceramic package material allows greater stability over long periods. Degradation in brightness or drift in colors is negligible, even after 50,000 hours of life.
