In the world of architecture and design, there are innovators and there are wannabe innovators. In an homage to all the wannabes out there, I now present you with an acrostic poem on innovation:

I Can’t Believe It’s not Butter. Now that was innovative.

Newness is not new, nor does it historically require a catch phrase.

Not everything Ideo does is magical.

Oh, give me a break—that’s an office chair.

Value adding should not be the foundation of your business plan.

All the retweets in the world won’t save you.

That new logo is not convincing me either.

I can’t believe you’re pawning this off as different.

Over-paid brand strategist—where is he?

Next time, try and focus on breaking the design mold, rather than the marketing one.
