Reopening & Reimagining Educational Facilities Amid COVID-19

As a second wave of the pandemic hits the U.S., many school administrators are wondering whether their facilities are prepared to receive students full time or whether they should extend virtual classes into the fall. While the timing of reopening is up for debate, what isn’t is the need to ensure that K-12 schools and colleges and universities are ready when the time comes.

This webinar will explore the strategies school administrators and staff should take prior to reopening the classroom, as well as a discussion as to how the coronavirus pandemic will change the way we design schools in the future.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe current challenges with safely reopening educational facilities amid the pandemic.
  2. Identify key operations and maintenance procedures that need to be addressed prior to reopening schools.
  3. Explain proper cleaning protocols that adhere to CDC guidelines to protect occupant health.
  4. Evaluate the effectiveness of design strategies to reorganize and reimagine classrooms for learning and physical distancing.

This webinar is approved for 1 LU | HSW credit for continuing education with AIA.
